Listening to the songs on The Connection, it's easy to see why so many major artists have recorded Randy Sharp songs through the years. He manages to combine intelligent lyrics and great melodies with new looks at universal themes -- not an easy task to pull off. But he makes it seem effortless. And, most important of all, his performance of his own material confirms the truism that, no matter how many superstars record a song, no one interprets it better than the guy who wrote it.
